Brands in Full Bloom
A series of mixed media illustrations by Daryl Feril. Very well designed, colorful. And totally illustrates the look and the feel of each brand. I can totally see these as editorial pages or advertising on fashion magazine.

Graphic design icon Massimo Vignelli died at 83
Massimo Vignelli, a graphic designer who was well regarded by his most notably design of NY subway map has died today at the age of 83. It's a sad day for all graphic nerds. His work is truly a finest example of modern classical era in graphic design.
“Massimo, probably more than anyone else, gets the credit for introducing a European Modernist point of view to American graphic design,” Michael Bierut, a partner at Pentagram, a leading graphic design firm, said.
Watch his past interview below.

200 years of graphic design in one poster
I'm a sucker for history and this very poster made me stop, look and even giggle(how geeky of me!). The poster depicted progression of styles in graphic design in past 200 years. I like how they include subculture like Pulp and Street Art Guerrilla.
Here are some close ups. (below)

Comic Sans redesigned, and I still don't love it...
Australian designer Craig Rozynski has created Comic Neue, an "updated" version of much-hated Comic Sans. I appreciated the effort to make the type cleaner by straighten some legs. But in the same time it stripped down personality and quirk this font used to have. As designer I find this new version quite challenging to use since it's not quite "fun" or not quite "polished". It's something in-between. What do you think?

LOVE/HATE
Nice little graphic illustrated by Marco Goran Romano. It got nice contrast between nerdy geeky 3d types and western vintage.
